Village Berlin / Movie Night LGBTQI Pride History
"Before Stonewall" Directors: Greta Schiller, Robert Rosenberg
Host by Marcelo Alves
"New York City's Stonewall Inn is regarded by many as the site of LGBT liberation since it was at this bar that drag queens fought back against police June 27-28, 1969. This documentary uses extensive archival film, movie clips and personal recollections to construct an audiovisual history of the gay community before the Stonewall riots." - IMDB
This event will be in German and/or English depending on the needs of the participants.
Village.Berlin’s monthly movie night started off as an informal gathering of members to show some of our favorite camp classics. Over the years the program has expanded beyond GBTQ themed films to explore more queer / non-normative points of view in a variety of genres and styles. Following each screening, visitors are welcome to stay and discuss the films and related themes in an informal group setting. The event is open to everyone and is free of charge.
We are planning to offer Movie Night as a physical event in space at Village together with a hygiene concept. Should this not be possible, we will update the details on our website.
